Walter A. Valasek 92, of Brackenridge, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025. He was born December 24, 1932, in Brackenridge to the late Michael and Karolina (Hrustinec) Valasek. Walter proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired as a millwright from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge. Walter was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Natrona Heights Campus, where he sang in the choir, Brackenridge American Legion Post 226, 4th Degree member of the Knights Of Columbus Council 2602 and past grand knight in Natrona, Gooseneckers, Hi-Hatters and the Pioneer Hose Company in Brackenridge. He enjoyed cooking and was the chef for Pioneer Hose Company and Arnold Fire Company. Walter enjoyed playing Santa, leather work, woodworking, golfing and loved swimming in his pool. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marian (Weleski) Valasek, children, Michael (Janet) Valasek, of New Kensington, Jeannie (Joseph_ Kraynik, of Natrona Heights and Robert (Melissa) Valasek, of Columbus, Ohio, grandchildren, Jason (Liz) Valasek, Jessica (Mark) Farneth, Sarah Kraynik, Steven (Emma) Kraynik and Hailey Valasek, great-grandchildren, Nathan, Presley and Beau and by his sister, Yvonne (Bernard) Jungle, of Butler. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his brothers, Al, Emanuel and Robert Valasek and sisters, Bertie Kort, Margie Maliszewski, Millie Mazur and Dolores O'Connell.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street Natrona Heights 724-22-48688, where a parting prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
