Richard S. Potocni

Richard Stephen “Rich” Potocni, 85, passed away on November 22, 2025.

 Born August 1, 1940 in Natrona Heights, he is the son of the late Stephen and Helen (Pelczar) Potocni. 

He is a Catholic. Rich is a 1958 graduate of Har-Brack High School. After graduation, he served in the Navy and was stationed in the Caribbean. Upon completion of his service, he worked for Oberg Industries, Allegheny Ludlum and Penn United.

 Rich inherited a great love of the outdoors from his father. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as a prolific reader and collector. He amassed a large collection of arrowheads while walking along creeks and streams in western Pennsylvania - his favorite activity.

 For most of his life, Rich frequently visited his extended family. He always announced his arrival by asking “Anybody home here?” Rich always showed up bearing treats, books and toys for the kids and dogs.

 In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his lifelong partner, Ruth Klimkowski. Rich is survived by his sisters, Rose Ann (Bob) Fair and Betty (Paul) Beckwith. He is also survived by his nieces, Sharon (Bob Rogalski) Fair-Rogalski, Beth (Jarvis) Lindsay, Denise Beckwith, Jamie (Matt) Horn, Kristen (Steve Castor) Fair and his nephew Rob (Judy) Fair, three great nieces, ten great nephews, two great great nephews and one great great niece.

 His memorial service is private and is entrusted to the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc, Natrona Heights.
