Patricia H. (Sievers) Toborkey

March 25, 1952 — July 23, 2019

Patricia H. (Sievers) Toborkey, 67, of Natrona Heights, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Patty went home to rest after a hard fought, 9-month journey with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Her beloved husband of 30 years Rich was at her side. Even during her illness she continued to care for him as she always had. Rich always took very good care of himself even with health issues- 'cheating and not eating well would be like cheating on Patty. I won't do that !!' Rich has joined Patty on July 29 and they are free at last. No more pain or struggles.

Born in Huntington Station LI, NY to Wilfried Sievers and Catherine Ketcham , she was the 2nd oldest of 5 girls. She always cared for her sisters taking them places and looking out for them. Growing up on Long Island, Patty always had a fierce love for the ocean, sand, and sunshine. There was no where she'd rather be than the ocean, unless it was with Rich. From when she was just little Patty had a way about her that would light up a room and made each person feel the most special. She loved laughter, cracking jokes and was truly one of the kindest souls you'd ever met. Always managing to look on the bright side it suited her that her Rich named her, 'Sunshine.' They met in a Long Island Diner many moons ago and he always said, ' I knew when I saw her, I was going to marry Her.' Patty was very loved at Eat & Park in Natrona Heights where she was a server for many years.

Rich took Patty to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa. in 1983 where they lived as best friends in Natrona Heights. Their home was adorned with a red brick custom porch entry that only Rich could've crafted. No one loved brick work as much Rich. Having helped build the Heinz stacks and supervise jobs in other parts of the world, his eye always caught bricks!

She saw the beauty in everything. She was an eternal, magical child. If you heard her voice, especially when excited? You knew right away she LOVED LIFE! In her younger years she would attend high school band concerts, especially at Christmas time, as it made her feel especially close to her Dad, a music teacher for 34 years. Patty was very fond of remembering her Dad always saying, 'When it gets tough, you gotta LAUGH!'

Patty loved Greek food, coffee ice cream, porches, driving past the boats, music, The Big Bang Theroy-BAZINGA!!! She and Rich were avid Pittsburgh Steelers fans and loved watching games together, In their younger years they especially loved going for rides on Rich's motorcycle and enjoying his Mustang's. They enjoyed Alabama concerts, Charlie Daniels and turnin up the tunes while goin' down the highway. Rich was a great lover of Creedence Clearwater Revival and would crank it up LOUD!!!

There is GREAT rejoicing in welcoming them home-Rich's beloved Mum, Patty's Daddy, Nana, Mom Terwiel, friends and all their furry babies are joyful and elated.

It is those they leave behind that are hurting yet honoring their beautiful Spirits and grateful we have their love in our hearts, always. Patty leaves behind her Mom and sisters, Cathy (Ed), Jane (Jody), Betsy (Ron) and Maureen. Rich leaves his sister Betty (John) and brother Tom (Dian), and have many cherished nieces and nephews who loved them beyond measure.

Patty & Rich were special beyond measure. They had true hearts of gold. In their honor, make that phone call, send that snail mail note, break bread together. If you see someone with out a smile, give them yours. Don't miss an opportunity to be kind.

Patty's wishes were a Celebration of Life at the Atlantic Ocean at a later date. Rich's wishes were to be with Patty! Any additional celebrations will be posted at a later date.

In the Toborkey's honor a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Society or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.

When you see a sunset, picture them on that motorcycle, riding off into happiness!
