Michael A. Harenski

Michael A. Harenski, 77, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at home. He was born August 25, 1948, in Natrona Heights to the late Albert and Stella (Pelczarski) Harenski. Michael was a 1966 graduate of Har-Brack High School and received his bachelor's degree in Education from California State College. He also did post-baccalaureate studies in Computer Science. He taught Biology and Computer Science for Highlands School District for many years prior to his retirement. Michael was a member of Guardian Angels Parish in Natrona Heights. He enjoyed music, especially rock and bluegrass, playing the guitar and banjo, golfing, reading, and watching movies. Sci Fi & Fantasy were his favorite genres. He was also an avid college and pro sports fan. Michael played basketball for Har-Brack (#14) and was known for his dry sense of humor. Michael and Kathy hosted 18 exchange students through American Field Service (AFS) and invested in the lives of many others for over 40 years.  Michael is survived by his nieces, Cindi (Don) Longo, of Ross Township and Nancy Cygnarowicz (Bill Pajewski), of Natrona Heights, great nephew, Don Longo, great nieces, Jessica McDonald and Callie Irwin, mother-in-law, Lois Boroto, of Natrona Heights and sisters-in-law, Judy Boroto and Bonnie (Jon) Maginn, both of Arizona. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy (Boroto) Harenski on March 2, 2025 and by his sister, Patricia (Harenski) Cygnarowicz.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a blessing service at 3:00 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.  Emtombment will be in Mt.
