Margaret Anne (Surma) Simon, 80, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. She was born August 30, 1940, in Natrona, a daughter of the late Edmund J. Surma and Rachel Russell White. Margy was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Margy worked for 19 years as the office cashier for the former Bi-Lo Supermarket in Natrona Heights. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Guardian Angels Parish in Natrona Heights. Margy enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, watching hockey, reading, computer games and keeping in touch with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Martin J. Simon; her children, Mark E. (Patti) Simon of Natrona Heights, Maureen A. (Dan) Hubert, of Ohio Township, Maggie R. (Todd) Puz, of Natrona Heights, Matthew J. (Diana) Simon, of Lower Burrell, Mary R. (Scott) Williams, of Sarver, Monica J. (Chad) Walsh, of New Kensington and Marcia E. Simon (Dave Kozy), of Robinson Township and by her 11 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Margy was preceded in death by her son, Martin Simon in 1968; brothers, Leonard E. and William R. Surma and by her sister, Dolores M. Kido.
Friends will be received on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a blessing service at 1:00 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Burial will be private.
