Kathleen S. Jonczak, age 69, of Sarver, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 12, 1957, in Natrona Heights, PA, Kathy was the daughter of the late Louise and Raymond McAfoose. She graduated from Highlands High School in 1975 and went on to earn her bachelor of science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1979. She began her career as a nurse at Allegheny Valley Hospital, later serving as a devoted mother, and then as a school nurse, touching many lives with her care and compassion.

Family was the true joy of Kathleen’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family. Her grandchildren knew her affectionately as Baba. She was known for her bright smile and infectious laughter. She loved gathering with friends and creating warm memories wherever she went. She had the gift of gab and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She was her children’s biggest cheerleader, attending every game and performance. She enjoyed polka dancing and listening to her husband and grandchildren play music with the Jonczak family band at Christmas parties and other family gatherings.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Chester (CJ) Jonczak; her son, Chester Adam (Heather) Jonczak; her daughters, Betsy (Jack) Busch and Annie (Nick) Stoltzfus; her 10 grandchildren, Miles, AJ, Louise, Parker, Warren, Lane, Gemma, Gus, Ruthie, and Caleb; sister-in-law Mary Lattus, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her brother Ray McAfoose, sister Doris Collins, brothers-in-law Timothy Jonczak, Gene Lattus, Jim Collins, and sister-in-law Suzy Rapp.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at RoseCrest Assisted Living and St John’s VNA in Mars for their exceptional care and compassion during Kathy’s final days.
