John C. Strickengloss

John C. Strickengloss, 72, of Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was born April 20, 1943, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Charles and Sarah Patterson Strickengloss. John was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam war. He retired in 2002 after 30 years of service from Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge, where he worked as a machinist. He was also a part time disc jockey and enjoyed playing the oldies. John was a member of the YMCA, S.O.A.R. and the American Legion in Brackenridge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his ATV and especially spending time with his family. John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Danice Curran Strickengloss; his children, Kerri (Brian) Hochberger of Penn Hills, Leif (Kim McMeen) Strickengloss of Castle Rock, Colorado and Cory Strickengloss (Penny Coons) of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Tarian Lawless, Christian Strickengloss, Shaylea Strickengloss, Josh Strickengloss, Klarissa Strickengloss, Jonathan Strickengloss, Kendra McMeen and Camile Coons; and by his brother, Bill (Barb) Strickengloss, of Sebring, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Bud (Treasure) Strickengloss.
There will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 11 AM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St. Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
