James Miller Myford, 80, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. He was born May 24, 1945, in Tarentum to the late Albert and Alberta (Miller) Myford. Jim graduated from Tarentum High School Class of 1963 and went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Slippery Rock University in 1967, his Masters in Education from Slippery Rock University in 1982 and had 2 post years of Masters study. He retired after 35 years as an Elementary Physical Education teacher from Highlands School District. After retiring JIm worked as a starter at Birdsfoot Golf Club, as a golf associate for Dicks Sporting Goods for 10 years and served as a cooperating teacher in the student teaching program at Slippery Rock University. He was a member of Center Church of Fawn Township, served on a state committee that developed a new physical education curriculum, was in charge of the sports activities for the vacation Bible School at Trinity United Methodist Church, delivered food for Highlands Meals-on-Wheels and worked at the Allegheny Valley Association of .Churches Food Bank. Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Susan (Huth) Myford and by his brother-in-law, Conrad Huth and his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Dickinson.


Services and burial for Jim were private. Arrangements were under the care of the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Contributions in memory of Jim may be made to Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank, Center Church of Fawn Township or to Prostate Cancer Research.
