Elizabeth (Gablick) Szalanski, 84, of Natrona Heights, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot. She was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Natrona Heights, a daughter of the late Stephen and Natalie Paluszewski Gablick. Elizabeth resided in Allegheny Township for 32 years. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Lower Burrell. Elizabeth enjoyed oil painting, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Babette (Michael) Magee, of Natrona Heights, and Jay (Tracy) Szalanski, of Natrona Heights; and by her grandchildren, Kelsey Magee, Ian Magee and Olivia Szalanski, whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isadore L. Szalanski, on Nov. 2, 1970; and by her brothers, Edmund and Stanley Gablick.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Lower Burrell.
