Elizabeth A. Dowling

Elizabeth A. (Lynch) Dowling, 90, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, June 2, 2025. “Betty Ann” was born, June 26, 1934, in Flushing, New York to the late John S. and Mary (O'Neill) Lynch. She was a member of St. Mary Mother of God R.C. Church in Freeport. Betty is survived by her children, Thomas, Shady Plain; Jean (Ted) Whitlinger, of Columbus, Ohio; Barry, of East Vandergrift; Erin Dowling of Saxonburg; Nancy (Dave) Keyser, of Cincinnati, Ohio and John (Shelley), of Canonsburg. Betty was “Grammy” to twelve wonderful grandchildren (Nate, Abby, Hannah, Elise, Ben, Elizabeth, Jeff, Tim, Neil, Emily, Steven, and Megan) and six beautiful great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John (Mary) Lynch and sister-in-law Sally Dowling. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas F. Dowling in 2007, and by her brothers, Owen and David Lynch.

Betty served as a nurse after graduating from Citizens General Hospital in 1982, including many years at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. In her retirement, Betty treasured time with family and dear friends at Concordia in Cabot, and King’s Gate Club in Nokomis, Florida. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, playing dominoes with the ladies, watching Jeopardy, and reigning as the Concordia Queen of trivia!

Friends will be received on Sunday June 8th from 2-5 in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Mass of Christian burial will follow on Monday June 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Mother of God Church, with lunch to follow for all attendees. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Freeport.
