Raymond C. Nowikowski

Raymond C. Nowikowski, 80, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Platinum Ridge, Brackenridge. He was born April 15, 1940, in Natrona, a son of the late John Joseph and Bessie C. (Tucholski) Nowikowski. Ray was a graduate of Har-Brack High School. He served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. Ray retired from Wulfrath Refractories, Inc. in Tarentum. He was a life member and past commander of the American Legion Post 48 in Natrona. Ray loved animals, especially his cat "Tiger" and enjoyed building puzzles. Ray is survived by his daughter, Lillian Cleary, of New Kensington; siblings, Edmund R. Nowikowski, of Natrona Heights, Cecilia (Felix) Corgnati, of Freeport, Loretta Mae Ravotti, of Freeport and Marie Cieslinski, of Natrona and by his 40 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 13 years, Patricia (Pugh) Nowikowski on January 26, 2021, and his brothers, John J. and George D. Nowikowski.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Drew Myers. Burial with full military honor's accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ray may be made to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 533 Linden Avenue, New Kensington, Pa. 15068 or to Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Pa. 15065.
