Mary Fran Sincell Jankosky formerly, of Natrona Heights, PA, passed away at the age of 89 on Sunday,
July 17, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Care in Virginia Beach, VA. She was born on July 1, 1933, in
Fairmont West Virginia, VA, daughter of late Charles Morris Sincell and Elizabeth Staley Sincell.
Fran was a graduate of St. Peter’s School in Fairmount, WV, and went on to graduate from Pittsburgh,
PA’s Mercy School of Nursing in 1954. After years of nursing, Fran went on to retire from Port-A-medic.
Fran was devoted to Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, and was an Associate Nun of
the Sisters of St. Joseph order of Baden, PA.
Devoting her time to helping others, Fran was involved with Highlands Area Meals on Wheels, and Tri
Life of Lower Burrell, PA. Fran spent her time gardening, playing bridge with friends, going out to lunch,
and making homemade strawberry jam to gift to friends and family.
Fran was devoted to motherhood and raised 9 children. Each child has gone on to raise beautiful
families of their own, Neil (Cathy) Jankosky of Lower Burrell, PA, Terri Jankosky of Virgina Beach, VA,
Mary (Bill) Dearwater of Florence, KY, Ann (Tom) Conroy of Fleming Island, FL, Dave Jankosky of Blonox,
PA, Jim (Danetta) Jankosky of Virginia Beach, VA, Jean (Steve) Goldstein of Harrisburg, PA, Mark
Jankosky of Ephrata, PA, and Ben (Elizabeth) Jankosky of Perryville, MD. From each daughter or son has
come a total of 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.
Fran and her brother, Chuck (Maryann) Sincell of Tampa, FL, continued to have a close relationship,
calling one another weekly and keeping in close contact. Fran always had a smile on her face when she
got to speak with her brother.
Fran is preceded in death by her late husband of 60 years, Neil Jankosky, a son in infancy, Charles Francis
Jankosky, granddaughter Kristen Elizabeth Thurman and great-granddaughter Scarlett Rose Kidder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 18 th at 12PM, at Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers and contributions in memory of Fran, they may be made
out to TryLife Center (115 Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068).
For everyone Fran had known in her life, we hold her close to our hearts with respect to how strong,
willing, and lovely she was. May our memory of her live on.
