Marie E. (Friel) Galie

Marie E Galie, 94 formerly of Natrona Heights, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Pasadena, MD where she resided since 2014.
She was born August 3, 1921 in Natrona, daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Menigat) Friel. Marie lived in Natrona and Natrona Heights for 91 years.
She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1939. Marie worked in the payroll department at the former Aluminum Company of America, civilian employee for the U.S. Military during WW II, the former Hart's Department Store and the former Good Housekeeping until she retired.She enjoyed playing cards, working crosswords and spending time with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years (Arthur Galie), brother Edward Friel, stepsister Sophie Permar and step Great Grand Daughter Grace Majeran. Survivors include her daughter Susan (Harold) Majeran of Pasadena MD, and a son James (Barbara) Galie of Natrona Heights, 4 step Grandchildren and 7 step Great Grandchildren.She was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights and the former Catholic Daughters of America.
There will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9:30 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with her pastor the Rev. James Mazurek as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Arrangements are under the care of the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
