Lois M. (Moersch) Bavetz

Lois M. (Moersch) Bavetz, 92, of Natrona Heights, passed away, Friday, November 24, 2017 at Platinum Ridge, Brackenridge. She was born October 1, 1925, in Pittsburgh to the late Edward Moersch and Bertha Daugherty Moersch Bracco. At the time of her marriage to her husband Frank, Lois was attending nursing school. Lois was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament R. C. Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights. She was also a member of the Greensburg Marine Corp League Auxiliary and a former President of the Pioneer Hose Company Auxiliary. Lois enjoyed crocheting, traveling and doing volunteer work for the Tree of Hope and Toys for Tots. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Frank M. Bavetz; her children, Michael (Elaine) Bavetz, of Coconut Creek, Florida, Martin (Becky) Bavetz, of Uniontown, Janet (Michael) Valasek, of New Kensington, Joyce (Tom) Keller, of Oakdale, and Julie (Christopher) Monzi, of Gettysburg; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and by her sisters, Shirley McFayden, of Albion and Mary Lou Szarmach, of Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Moersch, half brother, David Bracco; and half sister, Iris Weiczorek.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where funeral ceremonies will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Walker. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
