Leonard B. Sarnosky

Leonard B. Sarnosky, 76, of Lower Burrell, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. He was born September 24, 1945, in Natrona Heights to the late Blair and Regina "Irene" (Dudzinski) Sarnosky. Leonard was a retired teacher working for Highlands School District. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary R.C. Church in Lower Burrell. Leonard was the past commander for District 31 of the Sons of the American Legion, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 868 in Lower Burrell, the Arnold #2 Volunteer Fire Company Band and the Valley Community Band. Leonard enjoyed fishing, boating shooting and playing the saxophone. He is survived by his two sons, Aaron B. Sarnosky and Bryan M. Sarnosky, both of Lower Burrell; grandchildren, Corbin Sarnosky, Conner Sarnosky, Camron Sarnosky and Joey Druga; and by his sisters, Janet (Walter) Evanyk, of Texas and Valerie (James) Gates, of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Elaine (Essing) Sarnosky on February 19, 2012 and by his brother, Jerrold Sarnosky.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of a blessing service at 7:00 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. The American Legion will be conducting a service at 6:00 p.m., Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Leonard may be made to the Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, 730 Church Street, New Kensington, Pa. 15068.
