Joseph Stokwisz

Joseph Stokwisz, 95, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Assisted Living of Rosebrook. He was born December 8, 1928, in West Natrona to the late Joseph and Helen (Nowak) Stokwisz. Joe was a 1946 graduate of Har-Brack High and a 1952 graduate of Duquesne University. Joe was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army from 1946-1948. He lived in Huntsville, Alabama for 18 years before moving back to Natrona Heights in 1986. Joe began his career with PPG in Creighton in 1954 in the accounting department and held various positions there until he was transferred to Huntsville in 1970. He returned to the Creighton plant in 1986 as the Supervisor of Accounting and retired in 1988. He was a member of Guardian Angels Parish Natrona Heights Campus and the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Joe was a past member of the O.L.P.H. church choir, Holy Name Society, Polish Heritage Association, St. Vincent de-Paul Association and the Save Our Church Organization. He enjoyed farming, showing his packing horse, flower gardening, playing bingo and everything Polish.  Joe is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Richard and Stanley Stokwisz and sisters, Violet Wygonik, Jane Wygonik, Mary Vnuk and Lucy Raszkowski.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 12 Noon in Most Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Andrew Fischer as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Ladislaus Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Arrangements are under the care of the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
