Joan (Gaydos) Brzezinski

August 21, 1935 — June 11, 2017

Joan (Gaydos) Brzezinski, 81, of Tarentum, formerly of Natrona, went to be with the Lord and her loving husband on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Cornell Hospital, New York, after a lengthy illness. She was born August 21, 1935, in Natrona to the late Stephen and Pauline Cedzo Gaydos. Joan was a homemaker. The greatest joy of her life was her family. She loved spending time with her family, playing word puzzles, cards, sending e-mails, miniature golfing, watching ancient aliens, dancing and music. Joan was greatly loved and will be sadly missed. She was the cherished mother of Debbie (John) Fox, of Sarver, Linda Brzezinski, New York, New York, and Tom (Tammy) Brzezinski Jr., of Natrona Heights; and the cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Brzezinski Sr on November 11, 1992; brother, Edward Gaydos; and by her sisters, Emily Bonacella, Veronica Rodgers, Frances Retecki, Josephine Murphy, Betty Schreckengost and Agnes Wypych.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Aaron Kriss. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Joan may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105.
