Jeanette (Bengtson) Hilss

Jeanette (Bengtson) Hilss, 86, of Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Coronado at Stone Oak, San Antonio, Texas. She was born November 17, 1930, in Mount Jewett to the late Carl and Alfhild Olander Bengtson. Jeanette was a graduate of Thiel College with a BS in Library Science and received her masters in Library Science from Carnegie Mellon University. She worked as a librarian for the East Cleveland Public Library for five years. Jeanette was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Natrona Heights. She enjoyed reading, dancing, walking and gardening. Jeanette is survived by her sons, Douglas (Lisa) Hilss, Raymond (Sandy) Hilss, and Jeffrey (Judy) Hilss; four grandchildren, Jenna, Jared, Jeremy and Shannon; ex daughter-in-law, Lisa Meyette; sister, Lorraine Bachman; and by her sister-in-law, Sigrid Meier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dieter Hilss on November 17, 2014; and by her sisters, Ruth Buhl and Martha Jones.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5-8 PM in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle St. Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Funeral ceremonies will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 5:00 PM. Officiating will be her pastor the Rev. Barbara Ravenstahl, S.A.M. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
