Irene S. Deangelis

Irene Stella (Groszkiewicz) DeAngelis, 92, of Brackenridge, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home. She was born December 31, 1929, in Tarentum to the late Thomas and Stella (Sulenski) Groszkiewicz. Irene lived in her starter home for the past 72 years. Irene was a 1948 graduate of Tarentum High School. She was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, St. Ladislaus Church in Natrona, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the church choir and Ladies of Charity. Irene was also a member of the American Legion Post 226 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Irene is survived by her husband of 72 years, Willie G. DeAngelis, children, James T. (Marcia) DeAngelis, of Hermitage, Gerald G. (Carol) DeAngelis, of Freeport, John E. (Debbie) DeAngelis, of Allison Park, Jeffrey A. (Karen) DeAngelis, of Canton, Ohio, Judy M. (Mark) Thimons, of Natrona Heights and Jennifer A. (David) Boerner, of Smyrna, Ga., 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. Roman Groszkiewicz and Zygmund Grosz and by her sisters, Mary Jane Dorn, Helen Manuel and Macella Falise. Irene's family would like to extend a special thank you to AHN Healthcare at home Hospice. She always looked forward to the visits from Christine and Susan.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thrusday at 10:00 a.m in St. Ladislaus Church with her pastor the Rev. John B. Lendvai as celebrant. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. The Ladies of Charity will hold services in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. The family requests those attending the visitation and service to please wear a face covering. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Irene, may be made to St. Joseph High School, 800 Montana Avenue, Natrona Heights, Pa. 15065.
