Betty L. Vorp

Betty L. (Penn) Vorp, 97, of Natrona Heights passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. She was born January 15, 1926, in Natrona Heights, a daughter of the late Englebert and Anna (Mason) Penn.

Betty and her husband Jim really enjoyed camping. They went out to camp nearly every weekend to play country music, dance, and sing. Betty loved joking around with her friends and family at camp and everyone remembers her fun, playful personality the most.

Betty came to love reading and tried her hand at crocheting. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Eastern Star. In her later years Betty enjoyed the flowers outside and birdwatching, especially ones that contained her favorite color, red. Her unparalleled strength and wit will pass through her family for generations to come. Above all, her pure, selfless love for her large family, including her 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren will be what we hold in our hearts.

Betty is survived by her children, James (Joyce) Vorp, of Saxonburg, Donna Faulk, of Natrona Heights, Gary (Linda) Vorp, of Natrona Heights and Dan (Janet) Vorp, of Burlington, NC, grandchildren, Tammy (Bob) Cornman, Todd (Lisa) Faulk, Michael (Krista) Vorp, Rebecca (Seven) Johnson, Trudi (Caleb) Wright, Sara Ruffner, Bryan (Kira) Vorp, Julie (Chad) Sharpe, Brad (Becky) Vorp, Bethanie (John) Colwell and Ben Vorp and by her 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Vorp, son, W. Dean Vorp, son-in-law, Bill M. Faulk, daughter-in-law, Sharon L. Vorp, brother, Ronald Penn and by her sisters, Dolores Penn, Shirley Inglese and Jean Enterline.

Friends will be received on Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
