Betty J Scovern

Betty J Scovern, 66, of Brackenridge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was born April 6, 1957, in Brackenridge, a daughter of the late Gustave and Lorraine (Marcelli) Scovern. She is a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus in Natrona Heights and a former nurse at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital for 40 years. Betty enjoyed road trips with her daughter and friends to see concerts, yard work which she considered her relaxation time, and most of all her love for animals which led her to rescuing many cats and dogs. She was a caregiver who could be relied on by anyone in need.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Jessica Scovern of Brackenridge, sister, Donna (Kenneth) Bart, of Natrona Heights, aunt, Marlene Krasinsky, of Brackenridge, uncle, Dr. Rudy E (Carol) Marcelli, of Altoona and by many cousins. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her sister, Judith Scovern maternal grandparents, Vitaliano and Theresa Marcelli; paternal grandparents, Gustave and Eva Scovern.

Friends will be received on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of a blessing service at 10:00 a.m. at the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
