Barbara Lee Gilghrist

Barbara Lee Gilghrist (Jones) passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, at the age of 80. She was born on January 16, 1944, in Youngstown, Ohio and resided in Somerset, Pa. Barbara, a graduate of Youngstown High School in Ohio, was known for her love of animals. She leaves behind her cherished cat, Willow. Barbara will be deeply missed by her surviving daughter, Jill Nannev (hushand Greg) and her grandchildren Bryan Pless (wife Katie), Larissa Pless, and Brenton Pless. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Emma, Oliver, and Rosalie. Barbara is reunited in heaven with her daughter, Jennifer Gilghrist, her former husband and friend, Robert Gilghrist, her brother Danny Jones and her father, Jack Jones. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Somerset County in Barbara's memory. The Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home in Natrona Heights, PA, is assisting with the funeral arrangements. Barbara's kindness, love for animals, and devotion to her family will always be remembered by those who knew her.
